Self-Styled Prophet Samuel Kakande of Mulago’s Synagogue Church of All Nations has left tongues wagging after he informed his followers that those wishing to have special prayers to turn their dreams turned into reality will part with $300, approximately Shs1m.

The offer will go to both Ugandan and international followers of Prophet Kakande. The ‘prophet’ called it a show of commitment to their dreams and love for God.

Believers will send their prayer requests indicating their dreams which they want Prophet Kakande to pray for.

The ‘man of God’ will then spend three weeks on the prayer mountain praying for his followers’ dreams to turn into reality.

Proceeds from the special prayers for turning dreams into realities, Kakande further noted, will go towards completion of the church building.

“I want to announce to you, on March 24, 2024 we are going to write our prayer requests concerning our dreams. Is your dream to build a house? Write your dream. Is your dream to become a billionare? write your dream,” the ‘prophet’ announced.

“Send it to Kakande’s Ministries, on our address, because we are still building. We shall now be sending our dreams with $300. We shall send the $300, for those that are abroad. Write your dream, send it on our email with $300. I will download your dream from the email, I will be taking it to the prayer mountain and I will be praying over them for three weeks.

“Surely, you dream will come to pass because the Lord says, ‘I will not leave you until I have done whatever I have showed. You the Ugandans will bring Shs1 million just, a contribution to the building of the house of God.”

The announcement has attracted criticism from social media users, with some calling out self-styled pastors and prophets for milking poor Ugandans.

The prosperity gospel and the dash for miracles has found fertile ground in Uganda where poverty levels remain worrying, and corruption levels endemic.
