President’s Office Reveals When Late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah’s Body Will Be Returned for Burial

President’s Office, through Presidency Minister Milly Babirye Babalanda, has dismissed reports that the body of late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah will be returned at the weekend. 

On March 20, President Museveni announced that Speaker Oulanyah has died. (Read Story Here).

Museveni has since ordered that flags fly at half mast until Oulanyah has been buried. (Read Story Here).

But Museveni’s government is yet to reveal the cause of Oulanyah’s death. (Read Story Here).

OULANYAH BURIAL

While Minister Babalanda, the head of the national organizing committee (NOC) for the late speaker’s burial, was expected to release the official program for Oulanyah’s funeral, she said the full program will be out after the election of a new speaker.

Minister Babalanda dismissed reports claiming that Oulanyah’s body would be returned at the weekend.

“Fellow Ugandans, the body of the late Speaker is not due home this weekend as rumoured in some circles,” said the minister.

“I shall issue a full prog of arrival and other functions after the election of new Speaker, in consultation with him or her and NOC.”
