BEHIND BARS: Ex-Deputy RCC Anderson Burora Arrested. Here’s How He Landed in Trouble

Security operatives arrested Anderson Burora, the former Rubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner, at about midnight.

The security operatives drove to Anderson Burora’s home from which they arrested him after some time. Anderson Burora to Kira Division Police Station, detaining him there to spend the rest of the night.

Before his arrested, Anderson Burora had reported that mysterious people had surrounded his him and made it clear they would not return to their station unless they had leave with him so that he could explain some issues.

“My home has been besieged by unknown men who claims that I should go with them,” Anderson Burora informed his followers on X at 10:08PM, the last communication he made before the security operatives finally seized him and took him to Kira Division Police Station.

It was not yet clear why the security operatives arrested Anderson Burora at about midnight. However, in the last few months, the former deputy RCC for Kampala Capital City’s Rubaga Division has morphed from a government employee to an activist, criticizing the regime of gross corruption and other evils.

In fact, the presidency, which appoints and supervises RCCs and RDCs, suspended Anderson Burora for his criticism of the way Speaker Anita Among was running the institution of Parliament of Uganda, especially in light of allegations of grand corruption, abuse of office and diversion of funds at the legislative arm of government.

After a meeting between Speaker Anita Among and President Museveni, it emerged that the presidency had suspended Anderson Burora as deputy RCC and ordered him to apologize to the speaker for joining those accusing her of corruption in the online protest, Uganda Parliament Exhibition.

Anderson Burora made it clear that he would never apologize to Speaker Anita Among, not even on his grave. Burora also accused Speaker Anita Among of holding Museveni to ransom. (See Details Here and There).

In April 2024, Anderson Burora said his life was in danger, and that if he dies nobody should believe that it was an accident or a heart attack. (Read Story Here).
