Uneb: UCE 2023 Results to be Released Soon

Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) says it will release UCE 2023 results soon as parents, guardians, teachers and candidates continue to complain about the delays.

At least 349, 459 candidates registered for the 2023 UCE examination  compared to 364, 467 in 2022. It is these 349, 459 candidates who have been eagerly waiting for their UCE 2023 results.

After the release of results for the 2023 PLE results on January 25, many expected UCE 2023 results to be out soon.

But the results have delayed a little bit as Uneb undertook other assignments such as stakeholder engagements on competence based assessment under the new lower secondary curriculum whose examinations begin this year.

The delay led to speculation on the UCE 2023 results release date, with some claiming to know the dates that have since passed with no release.

While the marking of examination papers and the grading of candidates was concluded weeks ago, Uneb cannot release the UCE 2023 results without briefing first lady Janet Museveni, who is the minister of education and sports.

As was the case with PLE 2023 results, securing an appointment with Minister Ms Museveni is not easy for Uneb officials.

Now, although not yet explicit on the date and time, Uneb says it will release the UCE 2023 results ‘soon.’ As expected, the latest hint is clear on the release date being in February 2024.

“Knocking! UCE 2023 to be released soon!” Uneb wrote, preparing parents, guardians, teachers and candidates for an announcement on the release date and program.

It should be remembered that Uneb has been struggling to respond to allegations arising from questions on its grading system after some parents claimed to have seen leaked marked papers for their children. (See Details Here).

Uneb has also released a tentative program for a special transition exam for S4 repeaters as Uganda shifts to the competence based assessment under the new lower secondary school curriculum. (Read Story Here).
