Release Uganda Airlines Nsenene Vendors & Jail Those who Surrendered Entebbe Airport to Chinese – Besigye

Those who surrendered, not just Entebbe Airport, but all assets of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, to the control of China’s Exim Bank are not in jail; those who stole trillions of Uganda Shillings, borrowed for Covid19 response aren’t in jail; and all the thieves that have stolen Uganda dry have heavy State protection!

Decades of this official corruption and gross socioeconomic injustices have left ordinary, law-abiding Ugandans scratching for survival at the edge of the cliff.

That’s why it’s very wrong that a hardworking Mr Paul Mubiru is the one in jail being humiliated and his family suffering because he was trying to earn an honest income selling Nsenene!

The cases that have been preferred against Mubiru (common nuisance; refusal to follow a lawful instruction given by the aircraft crew member; and negligent acts likely to cause the spread of an infectious disease) clearly show that there was no specific law that prohibited what he did and that none of those cases can stand in a trial.

Uganda’s hawking and Bodaboda economy is a result of fundamentally flawed governance trajectory.

The prevalent hawking and Bodabodas are just symptoms of a failing State.

A solution isn’t in fighting symptoms but in dealing with underlying causes. Uganda must urgently deal with the entrenched and systemic injustice. Uganda urgently needs a grand reset. That’s why… #RedCardFront 🟥
