Uganda Police Force (UPF) has identified two of the three suspected Ndiga clan head killers. The suspects behind the assassination of Buganda Kingdom Ndiga Clan head Daniel Bbosa are members of Ndiga clan, the same clan as the murdered 72-year-old cultural leader and businessman.

After the assassination of Bbosa, a mob pursued the suspected Ndiga clan head killers. They caught Enock Sserunkuuma, one of the suspected assassins, and killed him. Sserunkuma was a known resident of Lungujja where Bbosa also lived.

The mob also badly beat up Noah Luggya (Lujja), another suspected assassin. Luggya is currently receiving treatment at the Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala. The third suspect is still on the run.

“As the 3 assailants were fleeing the scene, they were pursued and knocked by a courageous bodaboda rider at Bulange – Mengo, and they fell down. He went on to raise an alarm, that attracted an angry mob, which aggressively pursued and arrested two of the assailants, who were trying to flee on foot,” explained police spokesperson Fred Enanga.

“The suspects were seriously beaten by the irate crowd and one of the assailants identified as Serunkuma Enock died on the spot. The second suspect sustained life-threatening injuries, and was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he was later identified as Lujja Noah, now under close guard by CID personnel. A third suspect fled from the scene.”

Enanga said the police detectives hope to get more leads from Lujja (Luggya) who is out of danger.

“We expect more information from the suspect at Mulago once he gains total consciousness. The suspect in hospital, underwent a CT scan, and was found with no head fracture or bone injury. He is now conscious and guarded at the Hospital,” noted Enanga.

The police spokesperson also revealed that the attackers had tried to hide their motorcycle, a Haojue registration number UFX 854F which was “disguised with a cello tape to read UEX 754 E.”

The motive of the shooting remains unknown but police suspects it was “a targeted incident,” especially because Bbosa’s wife and maid survived with minor injuries.

“They attacked and shot the victim at close range, from the front side of the car. Three bullets penetrated his head killing him instantly while at the driver’s seat, of the Land cruiser, registration number UAH 637X. His wife Gladys Bbosa and their housemaid, Mrs Nambale Peace, survived with no major injuries. The trio was returning home, from a family function,” explained Enanga.

“We are reviewing all CCTV footages, both public and private in the area, as part of investigations. Our task team of detectives have forwarded, the killer gun to the Ballistic experts, to conduct an urgent trace of the origin of killer gun, when, where and to whom it was allocated. We are also analyzing all pieces of information available to us and continue to gather more leads.”

Meanwhile, opposition leader Bobi Wine has explained that the assassinated ndiga clan head Bboss was his uncle. (See Details Here).
