NBS TV fires back at Bobi Wine over election coverage protest letter

NBS Television has spoken out on allegations by National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine that the Next Media Services company was biased in it’s election day reporting.

Bobi Wine lost to incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, according to results published by the Electoral Commission (EC).

In a protest letter dated January 27, Bobi Wine accused NBS of reporting inaccurate results from various districts.

He alleges the results broadcast by NBS gave Museveni an edge over his opponents, and reportedly hijacked the will of his supporters.

Bobi Wine insists he won the presidential election although available data show he performed well in his home central Uganda and trailed Museveni in others.

Now, NBS, through Next Media Services head of Public Relations (PR) and Communications Desire Derekford Mugumisa, has termed Bobi Wine’s allegations as “baseless and unfounded.”
