National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has showered opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye with praises on his 65th birthday.
Besigye is the fiercest critic to his former bush war comrade President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
Bobi Wine, who came second in the January 14 election which Besigye declined to participate in, praised the former FDC president for showing him the way.
Here is Bobi Wine’s message to Besigye on his 65th birthday.
Dear Dr. Kizza Besigye, I want to send you the very best wishes on your 65th birthday.
Thank you for remaining steadfast and resilient in the pursuit of our country’s freedom, even in the most difficult challenges.
I thank you for showing us the way, and for preparing us for the kind of treatment we continue to receive from the dictatorship.
When we took this picture shortly after the 2016 election, you were under house arrest.
We spoke so much about our country and how to put an end to the humiliation of our people.
It is conversations with you, and several other leaders and comrades, that woke me up and gave me reason to stand up and fight for our people.
I hope that like you, I can inspire many more people to rise up and join this cause for our country’s redemption.
I know that this journey has been long and many times bumpy. But, Inshallah, it will end in victory.
May God grant that you live long enough to see a New Uganda where we shall all be free, a Uganda for which you have devoted your entire life to.
Happy birthday son of Kifeefe.
