Why Police Increased Prize for Most Wanted Katumba Wamala Shooting Mastermind Sheikh Ubaida Bukenya’s head

Uganda Police Force increased the reward for Sheikh Abu Ubaida Badir Diin Bukenya from Shs5m to Shs20m.

The reward was increased a few hours after a statement by deputy IGP Maj Gen Paul Lokech announced a Shs5m bounty.

“The Joint Security Agencies have raised the reward for any information leading to the arrest of its Most Wanted Person, a one Sheikh ABU UBAIDA BADIR DIIN BUKENYA, the overall coordinator of domestic terror cells, in the country, from Ugx. 5m to Ugx. 20m,” a statement by police later indicated.

Ugandans on social media had said the Shs5m bounty was too small for such a man police claimed was the overall coordinator of domestic terror cells of the ADF in Uganda.

Police was confident the increased reward would motivate people who know Abu Ubaida Badir Diin Bukenya to inform police about his whereabouts.

“We believe the reward will provide a significant incentive to anyone with credible information that will help lead to his arrest,” the Force said.

“The information can be shared on Telephone contact numbers; 0716-160261, 0717-179622 and 0715- 411674.”
