It has emerged that President Yoweri Museveni has appointed singer Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo as his senior presidential advisor on creatives.
Following the appointment, some people have been mocking at Eddy Kenzo’s education level in relation to the appointment.
Eddy Kenzo, who did not go far on his education journey, is a former street kid who initially aspired to be a footballer but later went into music, breaking through to become one of the country’s most celebrated singers.
Months ago, it became clear that he was in love with now junior minister for minerals and national female youth MP Phiona Nyamutoro and that the two had a child together.
This week, when Nyamutoro, a Makerere University alumnus, appeared serving Kenzo and his musician friends, some started criticizing the junior minister for submitting to an uneducated man!
And with his appointment as a senior presidential advisor on creatives, Eddy Kenzo’s critics cannot believe this uneducated former street kid is now closer to the seat of power.
As the attacks against Eddy Kenzo’s education (or the lack of it) intensified on social media, BBC presenter Alan Kasujja came to his rescue.
Educated, exposed and well-travelled, Alan Kasujja asked those bashing Eddy Kenzo to his achievements with theirs given how educated they claim they are.
“All the people bashing and laughing at Eddy kenzo. With all your English, education and whatever else that’s driving your cynicism… Who are you? What have you done with your life?” asked Alan Kasujja.
“This guy comes from nothing! Absolutely nothing! But look at him now… Then look at yourself…”
