President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and first lady Janet Kataaha Museveni took their Covid19 AstraZeneca vaccine jabs on Saturday, March 27, at State House Nakasero in Kampala.
Health ministry permanent secretary and president Museveni’s personal physician Dr Diana Atwine administered the Covid19 vaccine to the 76-year-old leader.
After taking the AstraZeneca shot, Museveni and his wife Janet urged Ugandans to embrace vaccination and continue with the observance of Covid19 prevention guidelines.
“I encourage all Ugandans who qualify for this vaccination to go to health facilities and get it. But remember to keep observing the SoPs; wear masks, wash/sanitise hands and observe social distance, etc,” the president said.
“I hope and pray that everyone will observe the SOPs and continue to remain vigilant in the fight against this pandemic,” added Mrs Museveni.”
