Former Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament and current First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has attended the last day of this year’s Nyege Nyege Festival where she showcased her dance strokes.
The region’s biggest festival of arts, culture and that entertainment, Nyege Nyege began on Thursday, September 15 and will close today, Sunday, September 18, 2022.
The event has been taking place at the Itanda Falls in Jinja, Busoga where Kadaga is a respected figure.
In fact, Kadaga was one of the leaders who vehemently opposed the group led by Speaker Anita Annet Among which wanted to block the festival, saying it was a hub of immorality.
Kadaga, who is also the Minister in charge of East African Community (EAC) Affairs and Kamuli District Woman MP, pulled off dance moves that left her admirers showering her with praises.
They even promised to give her their votes in the 2026 general polls.

Ahead of Nyege Nyege Festival, Kadaga blasted Speaker Anita Among and other MPs who wanted the event stopped.
Known for speaking her mind on matters in which she has great interest, Kadaga, without mentioning names, described those seeking to block Nyege Nyege Festival as enemies of Busoga’s economic progress. (Read Story and Watch Video Here).
