Buganda Kingdom monarch Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi finally appeared in public to celebrate his 66th birthday, appearing terribly sick, after months of absence and concerns over his health.
The Kabaka looked weak, frail and sick as he marked his birthday, an annual event that would have seen huge celebrations if it were not for Covid19 restrictions on public gatherings.
The king, who heads the most influential monarchy in post-independence Uganda, has been in and out of hospital.
Weeks ago, he travelled to Nairobi, raising concerns about his health.
Days ago, kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga told a social media follower the king would appear before his subjects whenever he wishes.
And when the Kabaka appeared days later, many confirmed reports of his ill health.
