Kampala Capital City Lord Mayor and FDC Vice President Erias Lukwago faced off with security minister Maj Gen (Rtd) Jim Katuguugu Muhwezi during November 18 night NBS Frontline hosted by Charles Mwanguhya Mpagi.
Among the issues discussed during the show was security.
Lukwago was concerned that security agencies were slowly making it a habit to shoot suspects dead.
The show happened hours after news of the killing of Muslim Cleric Sheikh Muhammad Abbas Kirevu in Kyengera. Sheikh Kirevu was said to be a recruiter for the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
The Lord Mayor told the security minister he [Muhwezi] was once a terrorist.
Muhwezi was a fighter in the National Resistance Army (NRA), a rebel group that captured power in 1986.
But the minister and MP shot back at Lukwago denying he and the NRA were terrorists.
The war of words between Lukwago and Muhwezi happened a week since another FDC leader, Spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, clashed with Minister Muhwezi on another show, NTV on the Spot.
