There was chaos in Nakaseke District at the burial of Jakana Sulayiman Nadduli, son to former minister without portfolio Al Hajji Abdul Nadduli, prompting security and relatives to evacuate the elderly and grieving former minister in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa’s government to safety.

Jakana Nadduli died early Monday, October 24 morning. The official cause of his death is not yet know since a government postmortem report has not been published but the former minister’s son was involved in a road accident at the start of 2022, leaving him with life-threatening complications.

Still suffering from the impact the accident had on his health, Jakana got into trouble with the Museveni government and state for which his father served as minister and to whose ascent to power he contributed in the NRA bush war struggles. He was facing charges of promoting sectarianism against Banyankore and Banyarwanda by the time he died. In fact, he was expected in court next month.

During Jakana’s burial, the  home of Mzee Nadduli in Kaddunda Village in Nakaseke District’s Kapeeka area turned into some sort of war zone that the Luweero Triangle was known to be during Gen Museveni’s National Resistance Army (NRA) bush war after mourners threw punches, plastic chairs and other objects at a man said to be an activist of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

And in order to protect Mzee Nadduli from getting into trouble in the midst of the chaos, some people were filmed carrying him to a safe area, away from the tents in his compound. The former minister would only be allowed to return after the chaos was no more.

You can watch the video and read the details of a story about the NRM mobilizer who was beaten like a chicken thief at Jakana Nadduli’s burial HERE.
