UPDF officers held keys of Jopalz Motel in Fort Portal city where main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) spent his January 05 night.
The soldiers had stormed the hotel January 05 night, grabbed keys from security personnel and ordered that nobody enters or leaves the hotel.
They had proceeded to lock Amuriat’s hotel room.
Earlier at about 8pm, security operatives had blocked Amuriat from accessing Hilton Tours Inn, located on Plot 18, Ruhandiika Street, where the presidential candidate and his team had booked to spend the night.
On January 05, he was expected in Kasese, Bundibugyo and Ntoroko districts. He had trouble campaigning in these areas.
For Kasese, for example, Amuriat was blocked at Katunguru, near the Rubirizi-Kasese border.
Amuriat heads to Kitagwenda and Kamwenge districts on December 06.
