Uganda’s army, the UPDF, and their Congolese counterparts FARDC have confirmed the that they have killed a number of ADF rebels, and rescued scores of children.
According to UPDF commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba a total of 16 terrorists belonging to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) were killed on February 27 night.
The rebels were put out of action at the South of Busunga/Nobili border point.
At least 12 children were also rescued from ADF’s camps.
“Last night we killed 16 ADF terrorists, South of Busunga/Nobili border point. We also rescued more than 12 children who were enslaved by ADF!” said Lt Gen Kainerugaba.
