President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has told the nation that the Covid19 being made by Ugandan scientists will be named Nalubale Dawa DN.
Nalubale is the name of what is mostly known as Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world.
For many months now, President Museveni has promised Ugandans that the country’s scientists would make a Covid19 vaccine and medicine.
Although Mbarara University of Science and Technology (Must) Prof Patrick Ogwang and other scientists have made some medicines, a vaccine is yet to be made.
In almost all his addresses, Museveni hints on Uganda’s Covid19 vaccine, assuring Ugandans it’s in the process.
In his November 20 night address, Museveni revealed the suggested name of the country’s vaccine.
“The vaccines are getting more available globally. However, we are working on our own vaccine, which we shall call Nalubale Dawa – DN. You can think about a better name,” said the President.
“Apart from vaccines, our scientists like Patrick Ogwang have been working on anti-virals which will help with managing Covid19.”
