Uganda’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has confirmed another Covid19 death, bringing the total Coronavirus fatality toll to a dozen.
MoH said the deceased is a 65-year-old Ugandan male, and was a resident of Kampala Metropolitan Area.
He had first been admitted at Nsambya Hospital.
But health officials would later transfer him to Naguru Hospital.
He had presented with signs and symptoms consistent with Covid19.
Doctors at Naguru Hospital would later pronounce him dead.
Tests carried on samples drawn from his body returned positive results.
On August 13, MoH confirmed two deaths.
One of them was a 60-year-old male of Indian origin was referred to Mulago National Hospital from International Hospital, Kampala.
Thw other male was aged 55 and had been in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala.
Meanwhile, MoH confirmed 32 new Covid19 cases from samples tested on August 13.
The new cases include 17 alerts from Kampala, Luweero, Mbale, Kagadi and Hoima.
Uganda’s cumulative infection toll stands at 1,385.
Some 1,142 of these patients have fully recovered and been discharged.
