Uganda’s Biggest Tribes Revealed – See How Many People Each Tribe Has

Following the dissemination of the final results from the National population and housing Census 2024, Uganda’s biggest tribes have been revealed. Uganda’s most populous tribes have over – or nearly – a million people.

The Constitution of Uganda recognizes 65 indigenous communities or tribes. But of these, only 13 have a population of at least one million people each.

Uganda’s population stands at 45.9 million people in 2024 – although President Yoweri Museveni was shocked by the number, which he believed should have been bigger than that according to earlier projections. (We reported that HERE).

In this report, The Pearl Times now presents Uganda’s biggest tribes in 2024 and how their populations changed in the past one decade, according to figures from the National population and housing Census 2024.
