Dr Henry Mwebesa, the Director General of Health Services at Uganda’s health ministry, has revealed that people between the ages of 20 and 39 (20-39 age group) are the most affected by the deadline Covid19 second wave.
The new wave, characterized by less symptoms, more cases, and more deaths, has been occasioned by new strains, including the one reported in India.
“It’s obvious from our statistics that the number of cases and deaths are increasing. Our data shows that the most affected age group is 20-39 years old,” Dr Mwebesa told reporters at a press conference in Kampala.
The director general also said experts sucpected the current wave strains spread faster, with more contacts being infected compared to the first one.
