Ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has confirmed the Central Executive Committee (CEC) will convene at State House Entebbe to decide on disciplinary action against former speaker Rebecca Kadaga for standing as an independent in the May 24 election.
Sitting at State House Entebbe on May 23, NRM CEC members picked Oulanyah as the party’s candidate for the speaker race.
But Kadaga chose to stand as an independent.

After losing to Oulanyah, Kadaga is now in trouble with the party in whose leadership she is number three in hierarchy of power and importance.
As second national vice chairperson, Kadaga is third to vice chairman Moses Kigongo and chairman Museveni.
Now, Lumumba has revealed Kadaga’s indiscipline and defiance will form part of the agenda.
Lumumba noted that as a high ranking party official, Kadaga shouldn’t have blasted the same process that had previously endorsed her.
Kadaga, in her capacity as a member of CEC, will attend the meeting.
Three options – caution, suspension and expulsion – are on table, the secretary general told reporters in Kampala on May 27.
“Kadaga will either face caution, suspension or expulsion from the NRM depending on whether there will be a formal complaint made to the party disciplinary committee over her conduct,” said Lumumba.
