TROUBLE for Radio Manager after He Was Filmed Beating Female Employee Over Shs12K (Watch Video)

A radio manager in the South Western Ugandan District of Kanungu is in trouble after he was filmed beating up a female employee over business commission cash. Nelson Twinamatsiko, the station Manager for 91. 5 Kanungu FM, is said to be the man filmed in a viral video beating a woman believed to be Anita Tumuramye.

Twinamatsiko is said to have disagreed with Tumuramye on the business commission money, said to be Shs12,000. The disagreement is said to have been over who was responsible for bringing to the station a business deal for which the 12K was attached. The station manager then descended on Tumuramye and hit her like a chicken thief, nearly strangling her.

After thumping Tumuramye, Twinamatsiko used his powers as the station manager to suspend the female employee.

Although the incident happened last week, the video has only emerged some hours ago. Now, a number of Ugandans are calling on Uganda Police Force to arrest Twinamatsiko and charge him with assault and torture.

Twinamatsiko is said to be very well connected and there are fears that there might not be justice for Tumuramye if the station manager decides to use his connection to prevent arrest by police and prosecution. Kanungu FM is owned by Dr Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, and Kinkizi East MP.

Ugandan Magistrate Sends Clear Message to Women Fighting Over Men as She Sends Student to Prison

The incident has come to light a few hours after a magistrates court in Kira sentenced Kaftah Queen, an 18-year-old Tanzanian student of Trinity College Nabweru, to three years imprisonment over the assault and torture of 14-year-old Pretty Nicole over a boyfriend. Queen Kaftah had descended on Pretty Nicole and beaten her up for reportedly snatching her boyfriend.

Presiding chief magistrate Roseline Nsenga of Kira Court said the sentence was meant to deter young girls from fighting over men. Although Pretty Nicole had refused to forgive her friend and asked court to hand Queen Kaftah a five-year prison term, Nsenga ruled that Kaftah had been remorseful, had asked for a lenient sentence and needed to return to school, hence handing her a three-year sentence.
