There is tight security at Medipal International Hospital in Kampala where outgoing works and transport minister Gen Edward Katumba Wamala is being treated for gunshot injuries.
Gen Wamala was involved in a shooting at Kisota Road in Bukoto, Kisaasi.
His daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo died on spot.
Wamala was rushed first rushed to Malcom Clinic, then driven to Medipal International Hospital.
Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen David Muhoozi, speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah and her deputy visited Wamala at Medipal Hospital.
Military police manned the entrance to the hospital.
Traffic along Acacia Avenue was partly disrupted to allow top military and goveenment officials accessing the general.
By publication time, the doctors were still working on Gen Wamala.
