About three days since the administration of Uganda Police Force (UPF) suspended operations of Gideon’s Men (GM) Security, a firm said to be owned and run by President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s daughter Patience and her husband Odrek Rwabwogo, the law and order agency has lifted the suspension.

In a May 26, 2023 notice, Charles Ssebambulidde, acting on behalf of police chief IGP Martins Okoth Ochola, announced that GM Private Security Organization (PSO) has been allowed to operate again after fulfilling most of the requirements.
Noting that GM Security was a PSO registered under category ‘B, C, D’ to offer investigations, guard, escort and electronic surveillance and that its staff were well trained to offer these services to the Ugandan public.
“This is to confirm that the above is a registered Private Security Company duly licensed to provide Private Security Services under category ‘B,C,D’ (Investigations, Guard, Escort and Electronic Surveillance,” wrote Ssebambulidde.
“The records confirm that their personnel are vetted during recruitment and trained under Police supervision as provided for in the regulations governing the operations of Private Security Organizations.”
He further confirmed that GM Security had already submitted an application for the renewal of its license and that it would be allowed to keep operating as the renewal process goes on.
“The Operator’s License for a Private Security Company is renewed annually. The Operator’s License for the year 2023 is being processed. The Company has been recommended to continue with operations. Any assistance rendered to the company will be appreciated.”
