Deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa has delivered a clear message to National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and other opposition politicians that attended the burial of Henry Masolo, father to opposition chief whip John Baptist Nambeshe.
Bobi Wine, leader of opposition in parliament Mathias Mpuuga and about 60 MPs were in Busai in Bududa for the burial of Mzee Masolo.
In his remarks, Tayebwa delivered parliament’s condolence message.
As expected, some of the MPs and NUP supporters Bobi Wine had travelled with to Bududa heckled some government officials as they delivered their remarks at the burial.
But Tayebwa told Bobi Wine that even when they come from different political groups, it was necessary to prioritize the needs of the people.
“We may not agree politically but we need to work for the wellbeing of our people,” Tayebwa told Bobi Wine and his supporters.
“There are things like the Parish Development Model which will benefit all our people irrespective of the party they support.”
