Young Ugandan rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo, popularly known as Fresh Kid, is in the news once again – this time over a video of his son that a senior police administrator says is ‘disgusting.’ The 10-year-old Fresh Kid’s ‘Mazima’ song, which was released this year, has received its first high profile criticism from the Uganda Police Force (UPF)!
Charles Twiine Mansio, who previously served as the Spokesperson of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and is currently the head of Criminal Investigations at Parliament of Uganda, has called on Irene Kaggwa Ssewankambo’s Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to ban the music video which he insisted he found so disgusting.
In Fresh Kid’s Mazima song video, the young rapper dons like a bishop and has danced dressing as Catholic nuns. That is the only reason he wants the music video deleted from the internet as soon as possible so as to protect the sanctity of the Catholic Church which he says has been damaged by the way the singer and the dancers are dressed.
“I have watched music video of Fresh Kid wearing like Bishops, with dancers putting on like Catholic Nuns, and am very disgusted with his managers. Such video should be censored with immediate effect because it undermines the sanctity of the church,” Twine wrote, attracting a lot of criticism from Ugandans, a number of whom thought the CID boss should have concentrated on a number of other issues and leave the young rapper again.
Charles Twine was fired from his juicy CID Spokesperson job and sent to Parliament as Officer in charge of Criminal Investigations. A few days earlier, his bid to be elected as the leader of an alumni association ended in tears after he lost miserably. (See Details Here and There).
