President Museveni and his wife Janet Kataaha Museveni might already be considering some sort of social distance after the head of state felt what he called was a cold and one test suggested that he had contracted Covid19.
There is confusion for Covidy19 test results for Ugandan President Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, the 78-year-old and long serving head of state and government has revealed on Wednesday, June 07, 2023.
The President has delivered his state of the nation address ahead of the budget reading for the next financial year (FY2023-2024).
Museveni gave an account of the country’s economic progress, state of security and other pressing issues such as a recently assented to homosexuality law that is causing the US government to work out sanctions against Museveni and other top government officials.
During the address, Gen Museveni also talked about his health condition, particularly a Covid19 scare.
As is expected, the president undergoes a number of health tests conducted by his team of doctors, who include Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr Diana Atwine Kanzira.
The president felt that he had a cold and his doctors recommended tests for the deadly Coronavirus disease.
The tests returned different results, leaving the military General from Rwakitura confused and thinking of a number of measures to ensure that the president does not spread the coronavirus disease to those close to him – in case he is already infected.
So, when he came to deliver his state of the nation address, Museveni confirmed that he was a suspected Covid19 patient.
He also revealed that this was the reason he and his wife, First Lady Janet, had arrived at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in different cars.
Ordinarily they would arrive in the same vehicle, very tightly guarded since its occupants are the country most powerful husband and wife.
“This morning, I was feeling as if I had a cold. I took a rapid Coronavirus test which indicated negative. I did two more tests with deeper analysis. One of them turned out positive, the other was negative,” Museveni revealed.
“So, I am a suspect of Corona as I speak. That’s why I came in a separate car with Maama.”
Museveni is not officially known to suffer from life-threatening health conditions.
The Pearl Times previously reported that a popular prophet had claimed that a president in the region was suffering from prostate cancer, that he secretly seeks treatment abroad and would die in power and leave his country in chaos if he does not hand over to a younger leader soon. This same prophet, who accurately predicted William Ruto’s presidential victory, has revealed the man he says God has told him would take over from Museveni as the next president. (Read Story Here).
