President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has described as “nonsense” claims that First Son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Special Forces Command (SFC) was involved in abduction and detention of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s NUP supporters before and after the elections.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba and his SFC are included in Bobi Wine’s petition to the International Criminal Court (ICC) wherein he calls for investigation into alleged persecution of his supporters.
But speaking during the pass-out ceremony of specialized commandos and enhanced manpower commando force at Camp Rufu in Kiruhura District on May 07, Museveni said SFC had done no wrong except responding to a security threat.
“I have been seeing people talking nonsense that SFC did bad things,” said Museveni at Camp Rufu, the headquarters of the First Commando Batallion and SFC Training Center.
“They didn’t do bad things.”
The president insisted there were clear records of what the SFC commandos did, and none of these points to crime.
“I got intelligence about these confused people, saying how they were going to kill people, stop elections from taking place, etc,” narrated the Commander-in-chief.
“I called some commando elements from Nebbi. What they did is well documented.”
