The body of Jacob Oulanyah, the late speaker of the 11th Parliament, has been returned home ahead of burial next week.
Oulanyah died on March 20. (Read Story Here).
The Ethiopian Airlines A350 plane carrying Oulanyah’s body landed at Entebbe International Airport at 01:57pm local time.
Vice President Jessica Alupo, Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among, Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa were at Entebbe International Airport to receive the body.

A brief ceremony to welcome the body was held.
A number of people were inconsolable as they shed tears, coming to terms with the reality that Oulanyah was no more.
Traditional Acholi dancers offered the relevant entertainment.
Rev Fr Godfrey Loum, the Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, led a short prayer session before Oulanyah’s casket was handed over to A-Plus Funeral Services.
In her brief remarks, Vice President Alupo urged Ugandans to remain united as the country mourns Oulanyah.
“We have officially received the body of our departed brother. We receive it utmost sadness and grief,” added Alupo.
A convoy escorted Oulanyah’s body to the A-Plus Funeral Home.
