Take my MP seat but leave my life, cries Ssegirinya as he fears ‘wounded liver may require transplant’

Kawempe North MP-elect Muhammad Ssegirinya has asked those he claims want him dead so they can take his parliamentary seat to spare him life.

In a video shared online, Ssegirinya said he had a wounded liver that he fears could require a transplant for him to heal.

Without mentioning their names, Ssegirinya said some people wanted to see him dead weeks to swearing-in for MPs.

“If what they want is my MP seat, let them take it but leave me with life,” cried Ssegirinya.

Emphasizing that his life was in danger, Ssegirinya asked Ugandans to pray for him.

Ssegirinya faces an election petition filed by his rival Sulaiman Kidandala.

Meanwhile, staunch NUP mobilizer Saudah Madaada who visited Ssegirinya at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where the politician is hospitalized said there was no improvement on the MP-elect’s health.

“State of Hon. Ssegirinya is soul crushing
People know me as a strong and iron lady, but last night, my soul was challenged by watching the current situation of Hon.Ssegirinya,” said Madaada.

“His condition is very bad, he improves a little, and relapses drastically. The conditions are not improving in anyway, he can’t eat, low voice, pale face, ears and chest pain, can’t walk . The only thing he can do best is looking.”

Adding that Ssegirinya’s “condition hasn’t improved yet despite continuous medication subjected to him, ” Madada requested for prayers for the politician.

“Known as a man who always smiles, he isn’t doing so as yet due to his sorry state,” she added.

“My hope was somehow shaken when I tried to feed him and couldn’t do that, apart from seeing endless tears from his eyes.”

Ssegirinya was rushed to Nairobi days after leaving Kitalya Prison on bail for inciting violence in a protest weeks earlier.
