TABLES SHAKEN! Shock as NBS TV Journalist Claims Minister Chris Baryomunsi Told Him State Killed MP Nebanda

NBS journalist Moses Walugembe is man of the moment after he told a Twitter Spaces session moderated by former colleague Solomon Sserwanja that the current information minister once told him the state killed former MP Cerinah Nebanda.

In December 2012, Nebanda, the then 24-year-old Butaleja MP, died, leaving questions on the cause of her death.

A government postmortem report blamed her death on drug abuse after cocaine, heroine and alcohol were reportedly found in her blood.

But some politicians punched holes in this report, claiming the youthful MP was killed by those she disagreed with.

A pathologist hired by Nebanda’s family was reportedly arrested as he travelled to South Africa to conduct another autopsy.

Meanhwile, Nebanda’s boyfriend Adam Sulaiman Kalungi was arrested from Kenya and extradited to Uganda only to be acquitted of all charges to do with his fallen girlfriend two years later.

Now, according to Walugembe, Baryomunsi once told him and others that the state killed Nebanda.

Baryomunsi is now a minister but was once a critical voice within the NRM.

“I’m disturbed by the way Chris Baryomunsi defends this regime yet he used to criticize it. I remember we one day sat in his car after the death of MP Cerinah Nebanda and he told us that the state had killed her,” claimed Walugembe in a space discussing torture in the country.

“He frankly told us how politics works and said that it was the government responsible for her death and he well knew about it.”

The Pearl Times could not independently verify Walugembe’s allegations.
