Uganda Christian University (UCU) has identified the student killed in the Fido Dido Building church ceiling collapse as Lorita Blessy Asimwe.
The Mukono-based university says Asimwe was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
She was a finalist, with her graduation only a few months away.
Asimwe had gone to the House of Rest Church for a lunch hour service when the ceiling collapsed.
She would be rushed to hospital but later succumbed to injuries.
“It is on a sad note that we announce the death of Asimwe Lorita Blessy, a final year student of Ba. Human Resource Management,” announced Uganda Christian University.
“She was one of the victims of the Fidodido building collapse yesterday. Lorita had gone for Lunch Hour Prayers and she was due to graduate in July, 2021.”
