Farouk Kirunda is President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s new press secretary, replacing Linda Wamboka Nabusayi who was promoted to become senior press secretary as Don Wanyama was appointed Vision Group CEO.
Pearl Times News can authoritatively confirm that Kirunda, an aide to President Museveni, and also administrator at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) based at Kyambogo, will be replacing Nabusayi.
Nabusayi’s elevation was revealed on Friday, leaving the press secretary office vacant.
“I appreciate you all for the love, support and encouragement at my new assignment,” said Nabusayi.
“I want to thank the President for giving me the opportunity to serve our country and the Presidency with loyalty, respect, dignity and integrity.”
Nabusayi replaced Tamale Mirundi as presidential press secretary in 2015.
Now, Kirunda, a key party mobiliser and Museveni defender, will be taking up this key role in the president’s press office.
