Stanbic Black Pirates Seal Off Rugby Season with Stunning Performance against Makerere Impis

The Stanbic Black Pirates decisively wrapped the regular season of the Nile Special Rugby Champions with a stunning performance.

This magic went down at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere, where the Sea robbers clobbered Makerere Impis 41:13.

This being the final race in the season, the Saturday results have left the boys better placed in the top three behind the table leaders Heathens and the Jinja Hippos.

Despite a courageous effort put forward by the Impis, their captain acknowledged loopholes in the attacking side.

“The game has been well fought. We failed to utilize the several times we got an opportunity and that gave the opponents a better position of the game,” he said.

The Pirates head coach Marvin Odong hailed the team for pulling off an impressive performance.

“Even this year, we would have been crowned winners if we had not slid back in the middle of the season. We are going back to the camp, plan and strategize better for the coming season,” said Odong.

At the end of the game, the tactical Umar Duff was crowned the Most Valuable Player.

The precious Pirates tries were secured by Umar Duff, Moses Zziwa, Fredrick Mulindwa, Samuel Lubwama, Moses Olweny, Jones Kamiza and John Paul Atim.

Amidst the action, the crowd enjoyed a variety of snacks and beverages, with a special 20% discount offered on beer purchases made using Stanbic’s FlexiPay, while adding a magical touch to the overall experience of the event.
