Ssegirinya Parades Wounded Foot Before Court

Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya used his October 15 court appearance to show Buganda Road Court grade one magistrate Doreen Olga Karungi wounds from his alleged torture.

Magistrate Karungi read to Ssegirinya charges of inciting violence.

Ssegirinya denied the charges.

Prosecution alleges that between August and September 2020 while in Kampala, Ssegirinya aka Mr Update made statements on his Facebook page ‘Ssegirinya Muhammad Fans Page’ with a clear intention to incite the public to mete acts of violence against a section or group of Ugandans.

Ssegirinya, who appeared before court via a video link, asked the grade one magistrate to allow him to show the wounds he claimed were inflicted on him during his re-arrest.

Karungi allowed Ssegirinya to parade his wounded foot.

Magistrate Karungi ordered Kigo Prison authorities to avail Ssegirinya treatment.

In his televised address weeks ago, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni condemned torture of suspects.
