Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is mourning her brother Paul Francis Wambi Kadaga who passed on December 07.
According to Kadaga, Wambi was pronounced dead in their home district of Kamuli in Busoga sub-region.
The family would release a funeral program in the coming days, the speaker added.
“It’s with deep sorrow that I announce the death of my brother, Paul Francis Wambi Kadaga. He passed on today in Kamuli,” said Kadaga.
“Burial details will be communicated in due course. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Wambi’s death happened in the heat of Kadaga’s reelection campaign for the Kamuli Woman MP seat.
She has represented Kamuli in Parliament since 1989.
Hours before she announced her brother’s death, Kadaga had campaigned in Namasagali sub county; starting her campaign at Malugubya Primary School, headed to Busambu Primary School and Bwiiza, Bugaya.
