SPEAKER IS VERY SICK, NEEDS PRAYERS: Norbert Mao Gives Latest Update on Jacob Oulanyah’s Health Condition after Visiting Him in Hospital

Democratic Party (DP) President General Norbert Mao has spoken out on the health condition of Jacob Oulanyah, the Speaker of the 11th Parliament. 

Oulanyah was rushed to the US in February 2022. (Read Story Here).
Deputy speaker Anita Annet Among would later tell MPs that Oulanyah was improving. (Read Story Here).
But last Friday, she is said to have been told that the speaker’s condition had deteriorated.
It has also emerged that when she received the news of the speaker’s deteriorating health condition last week, deputy speaker Anita Among spent the whole night crying. (Read Story Here).
On March 15, Anita Among flew to the US to check on her boss Oulanyah. (Read Story Here).
Also visiting the speaker in the US is Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo, DP leader Mao and Oulanyah’s close family members. (Read Story Here).

The rumors of Oulanyah’s death spread after Wikipedia published an update claiming he had breathed his last. (Read Story Here).

WHAT MAO SAYS AFTER VISITING SPEAKER OULANYAH

According to Mao, the Oulanyah is still hospitalized.

In a short statement, the DP leader said the speaker was “very ill” and “deserves our prayers.”

Mao also called on Ugandans to respect the privacy of the speaker’s family.

“I’m with the CJ, the D/Speaker, the Health Minister and the Speaker’s brother in Seattle where the Speaker is hospitalized,” said Mao.

“A man who is very ill deserves our prayers. Above all let’s respect his privacy and that of his family.”
