Ugandan singer Violah Nakitende has reportedly been arrested over fraud.
Nakitende is said to have been arrested and detained in Kampala over Shs180m.
The money in question apparently relates to a deal over the management of the artiste. The deal went sour after the switch from one management team to another became problematic.
Another music label claims that it signed Nakitende but the singer reportedly continued doing music for Sabula Management.
In a recent interview, the singer said a deal with the management label ‘harassing’ her failed over rent issues.
“I don’t know much about those issues but I’ve never been signed by those people, they were only helping me. They paid Shs4m for my rent for three months,” said Nakitende.
“But other things they promised were not done so I left their house and everything which means I don’t owe them anything.”
