Singer Pallaso fires back at police for disrupting his party

Singer Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso, still in hiding after escaping from the loose hands of police officers, has blasted police for disrupting his party during July 29 curfew hours

Pallaso had been arrested alongside others at a night party at his Makindye Luwafu residence in Kampala.

According to deputy dpokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Luke Owoyesigire, the popular member of the Mayanja family was nabbed following an alert from an unidentified neighbor.

The neighbor had tipped off police that that there was a group of rowdy people making noise and playing loud music at the singer’s house.

This prompted police to drive to the venue where they confirmed the reports to be true.

When the group was however asked to cut short their merrymaking, they turned violent and further threatened to fight with the officers on duty.

Seeing things going out of hand, the officers opted to plead with Mayanja, the host, to rein in on his drunk visitors.

But Pallaso and his colleagues refused to to leave the party.

This made the angry officers decide to arrest Pallaso and his friends.

Pallaso, however, escaped with the police handcuffs and the police has already started hunting for him to face charges of escaping from lawful custody and obstruction of justice.

But Pallaso criticised police for using force to block his party.

“Uganda police, we are all Ugandans and we are all affected by this pandemic differently,” the singer wrote, while in hiding.

“Using excessive force and shooting bullets at unarmed fellow brothers and sisters is making me lose all hope. Enough is enough.”
