SHOCKING VIDEO: Chaos as ‘Military, Police’ Forcefully Break into FDC MP Adeke’s Soroti Home, Beat, Pepper Spray & Arrest Party Officials & Female Legislator’s Relatives

There was chaos in Akisim in Soroti on July 27 night and early hours of Thursday, Juky 28, after suspected police and military officers broke into the home of Soroti City Woman MP Anna Adeke, arresting Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) officials and relatives of the female legislator.

The incident happened a few hours before voting in the Soroti City East byelection was expected to begin.

MP Adeke, who is also the FDC Vice President for Northern Uganda, said police and military, whom she described as ‘criminals’ had pepper sprayed and beaten the FDC officials.

“Police in Soroti have broken into my house in Akisim. They have beaten, pepper sprayed and arrested all my people. They started this at 11.30 pm until 00.51am.  The criminals in police uniform have taken my people,” said Adeke.

According to opposition leader and former FDC President Dr Kizza Besigye, the people in Adeke’s Soroti had “refused to open the gate.” As a result, Besigye continued, “the home was teargassed and later broken into.”

Besigye said polling day documents such as Agent’s appointment letters were seized from the home. He also claimed that most of FDC candidate Moses Okia Attan’s campaign vehicles were found with flat tyres on July 28 morning.

“The two-hour break-in battle ended with the arrest of our people in the house and polling materials of our candidate Hon Moses Okia was stolen. Fortunately, Hon. Annah had left,” said the FDC party in a short statement.

The raid and chaos at MP Adeke’s home happened hours after the FDC candidate in today’s Soroti East byelection, Moses Okia Attan, claimed he was poisoned. (Read Story Here).
