A popular Capital FM DJ has reportedly taken his own life over life’s challenges.
Alex Murimi, who many knew as DJ Lithium, is said to have collapsed at the Capital FM’s offices after reportedly committing suicide.
He was then rushed to Nairobi Hospital where he died.
Danny Munyi, Capital FM’s Programmes Director, said: “Alex was a great addition to the larger Capital FM team, encompassing great talent as a DJ, producer and possessed an interesting ‘right wing’ sense of humour.”
Capital FM has requested people to respect the privacy of the Lithium family as they mourn.
But the cause of death remained a question of debate in Kenya.
Some reports claims that DJ Lithium had gone to the washrooms with a soda and a tumbler.
That he would return very weak and sickly.
He is also said to have told his colleagues he was sorry.
According to reports, the DJ, who worked at Capital FM for eight years, allegedly died from an apparent suicide.
There are also some claims that DJ Lithium had deleted his social media account on which he had last posted ‘gone.’
That he had left behind a suicide note detailing reasons why he chose to take his own life. These reasons reportedly included family issues.
