SHOCKING FACTS REVEALED: Museveni Had Planned to Appoint His Wife Janet Army Commander

Just over two decades ago, Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni was ready to appoint his wife Janet Kataaha Museveni as commander of a UPDF operation against the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).

According to first son and Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, his father Gen Museveni was disappointed that the generals had failed to defeat LRA.

The president had come with Janet to a meeting of commanders held at Soroti sometime in November 2003.

He told the security chiefs he would soon appoint the first lady as the overall commander of the operations against LRA if the mostly male commanders had failed.

Lt Gen Kainerugaba says this was motivation enough to kill Tabuley, the LRA third in command, the following week.

“Historical fact. In November of 2003 when were kind of stuck with LRA in Teso, Mzee called a meeting of all commanders in Northern Uganda. The meeting was held in Soroti. He arrived for the meeting with Mama Janet. He then told us that since we were not doing well enougha against LRA he was considering appointing Mama Janet as Overall Operations Commander in Northern Uganda,” wrote Kainerugaba.

“We killed Tabuley, the LRA third in command the following week. Mzee knows how to motivate troops.”
