SHOCK as Company Connected to Museveni’s Daughter, Son-in-Law is Closed (See Details)

While many have always thought that businesses and enterprises by members of the Ugandan First Family, the Uganda Police Force (UPF) Chief IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has left Ugandans with such a belief shocked after the force’s Private Security department suspended operations of a company connected to President Museveni’s daughter and her husband, the son-in-law to the head of state and government.

This week, Police announced that it has suspended operations of at least 39 private security firms. In a statement by deputy police spokesperson Polly Namaye, the 39 Private Security Organizations (PSOs) failed to fulfill some or all of the necessary conditions for license renewal last year (2022) as per Regulation 14(d) of the Police (Control of Private Security Organisations) Regulations 2013.

Namaye noted that some of the conditions the firms had failed to meet included: an NSSF certificate of clearance, evidence of payment of gun licensing fees or gun rental fees, as well as evidence of annual inspection of the company.

“All regional Police Commanders have been instructed to ensure that these companies halt their operations and ensure compliance to the suspension. A team of officers from Private Security and Firearms department have been instructed to conduct withdraw/ recovery of firearms from the respective PSOs. Uganda Police Force continues to receive requests for license reinstatement from PSOs whose licenses were previously suspended. This will depend on whether the necessary conditions for renewal of the license have been fulfilled,” added Namaye.

“The Directorate of Operations has developed Standard Operating Procedures for all Private security Companies. Each PSO has been supplied a copy of the SOPs for compliance. Important to note is that each Private Security Guard shall receive mandatory training based on a standard training curriculum. Deployment of security guards shall depend on their successful accomplishment of this mandatory training.”

According to Gideon’s Men’s website, The Gideon’s Men Ltd (GM Security) is a member of Tomosi Group, a holding company incorporating Public relations, Communication & events, Agriculture, construction, tourism, real estate and Security.

“In 2006, when an opportunity to find work for hundreds of young people outside Uganda arose, GM Security was born to provide trained guards for deployment in the Middle East. Over the last 14 years, we have found work for over 10,000 young people who brought home annual revenue to Uganda’s economy of about USD60m. This has been achieved in partnership with a US based company Constellis (formerly Triple canopy Inc. USA), a global leader in security and risk management industry operating in over 40 countries,” the profile on the company’s website further reads.

As we have reported before, Rwabwogo is one of the four members of the Ugandan First Family reportedly said to be interested in taking over from Museveni in 2026. Rwabwogo has since opened up on his reports of his 2026 presidential ambitions. (See Details Here and There).
