Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo of House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI) has reportedly told police in Kawempe that his fiancee has never introduced him.
In an event televised on his Salt TV where Suzan Makula also works, Bujjingo was introduced by his employee at a ceremony attended by celebrities and friends.
His first and official wife Teddy Naluswa would later report him at Kawempe Police Station.
Bujjingo has since responded to Naluswa’s complaint, saying he has never married Suzan Makula.
He has also told police that he attended Suzan Makula’s introduction as a guest.
Bujjingo and Suzan Makula are also facing a court battle. They have been summoned to appear and defend themselves.
Also, the LCI Chairman of the village where the introduction happened has pinned Bujjingo.
Bujjingo and Suzan Makula could face five years in jail, each, if convicted according to Section 42 of the Marriage Act.
“Any person who, having contracted marriage under this Act or any modification or reenactment of this Act, during the continuance of that marriage contracts a marriage in accordance with customary law, commits an offense & on conviction to attracts a sentence not exceeding five years,” reads the piece of legislation in part.
