Turkey-based blogger Fred Kajubi Lumbuye is in trouble after security agencies reportedly vowed they will ensure that he reveals his accomplices and the people he works for.
Lumbuye, a supporter of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP), is said to have been arrested in Turkey.
Reports say he had gone to the Ugandan embassy in Istanbul to renew his passport.
He is wanted in Kampala for originating and spreading false reports that President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni had been flown to Germany in critical condition, and that he had later died.
Now, government newspaper New Vision has quoted security officials as revealing that Lumbuye will have no option but to tell investigators who he works with and for.
“Lumbuye had several players behind him,” a source in security told the government newspaper.
“It is time for truth-telling and for him to reveal whoever was involved in feeding him with falsehoods to cause acrimony.”
Lumbuye could be deported to Uganda to face charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication.
