Uganda Police Force (UPF) spokesperson Fred Enanga has claimed security agencies have handed over missing persons list to internal affairs minister Gen Jeje Odongo.
Enanga told reporters in Kampala on March 01 that minister Odongo was set to release the list before the floor of Parliament.
Two weeks ago, Museveni claimed government would account for all missing persons even when Odongo had confessed security agencies couldn’t account for about 30 of them.
In this fortnight, security agencies seemed to defy Museveni, the commander-in-chief’s order to publish the list of the missing people, where they are being held and crimes committed.
The arrested are said to be linked to the planning and execution of November 18 and 19 riots that followed the arrest of Bobi Wine.
The arresting officers included a commando group that flew from battle-battered Somalia.
This prompted Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to order Gen Odongo to present the list before Parliament.
Now, Enanga says the list will be out any time.
“Towards the end of last week, the minister [Gen Odongo] met the various service chiefs and this list was forwarded to him. He will present it before parliament,” said Enanga.
He added that sharing the list with reports would be equivalent to usurping the powers of his boss, Minister Odongo.
