The minister also revealed that learners in certain classes will be promoted to the next class when schools reopen next month.

Pupils in P1, P2 and P3 of the 2020 lot will be promoted to the next classes, that is P2, P3 and P4, respectively.

But these will be given remedial lessons so that they cover content considered key in the classes they will be leaving.

The remedials will be conducted in the first term of 2022.

In the same way, learners in Senior One (S1) and Senior Two (S2) of the 2020 batch will progress to Senior Two (S2) and Senior Three (S3), respectively.

These two will be offered remedial lessons for catch-up purposes.
