Radio lessons for P6, S1, S2, S3 and S5 have started today Monday, August 16, across the country.
The lessons will air on major radio stations.
According to the Ministry of Education and Sports, the radio lessons will ensure continuity of learning.
Schools remain closed as a preventive measure against Covid19.
President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has insisted vaccination of learners and teachers must precede reopening.
Officials at the education ministry have also allayed parents’ and students’ fears on reports of a dead academic year.
As the ministry prepares to present a comprehensive reopening plan, it has started radio lessons for a number of classes.
Ministry of education permanent secretary Ketty Lamaro has urged parents and guardians to allow learners to use Radio sets available in their homes.
PS Lamaro also requested parents and guardians to give children time to attend the lessons.
A plan by government to give families radio sets and villages television sets failed.
