Education and Sports Minister Janet Kataaha Kainembabazi Museveni has announced dates for the selection exercise and reporting for the 2023 Senior One class.
The announcement, which was made at State House Nakasero on Friday, January 23, 2023, followed the official release of the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results by the Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb).
While learners in other classes will be reporting back to school on February 06, 2023, those transitioning from Primary level to Senior One will have to wait for a nearly four weeks before reporting to their new schools.
During these four weeks, the primary leavers and their parents or guardians will prepare to report to school while schools will take part in a national selection exercise that will take place in the capital Kampala.
Ms Museveni confirmed that the selection exercise for Senior One students will take place from February 02 to 03 at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Exhibition Hall in Kampala.
S1 students will then report for their Term One on February 20, 2023. Although they will report later than continuing students, Senior One students are expected to break off for holiday with all the other students in secondary schools in May 2023. Meanwhile, a little over 97,000 candidates have FAILED PLE and have been advised to repeat. (See Details Here).
